Tuina therapy

(Good to know. I am currently in the graduation phase of my Tuina therapy studies)

Tuina (twiena) therapy, like Qigong and acupuncture, is part of traditional Chinese medicine. The gentle massage techniques of Tuina therapy work deeply on the body and meridians and bring healing and recovery.

My style of Tuina therapy is characterized by gentle massage techniques combined with directing Qi through the meridians My method of Tuina is experienced as both gentle and intensive.

Tuina therapy helps with both physical pain and psychological complaints. Resolving blockages in the meridians and the free flow of Qi bring the body and mind back into balance. Tuina therapy is also helpful in processes of self-cultivation and getting closer to your ‘true self’, this happens when patterns underlying the sickness come free.

Tuina therapy offers help with pain, burn out, tension, stress, recovery from illness, and ‘unexplained’ physical complaints. Tuina therapy also offers help with anxiety-related complaints, inner unrest and problems with sensitivity.

Tuina therapy is suitable for children and adults. Tuina therapy has the same healing aspects as acupuncture, but without the use of needles.

The session

Diagnosis is made by asking questions, feeling the pulse, palpating the meridians of the underarm en and leg, and observing the tongue. The treatment takes place on the treatment table. You lie on the table with clothes on, t-shirt and pants.

The treatment involves applying various gentle massage techniques to the body and directing Qi to open the meridians. Other methods from Chinese medicine such as working with warming moxa, gemstones and Qigong exercises can also part of this treatment.

Results

Tuina therapy creates a profound change in the physical and energetic layers. Old pains, injuries, illnesses and patterns are released and Qi flows freely again.
